There are multiple ways in which people live life, work hard and walk the difficult road in order to reach
- The destination they think they deserve, or
- They aim for and believe they can reach.
But when people walk this road their behaviors are subtly different. These differences are critical:
- Some believe that reaching the destination is most important thing in their lives and hence they sacrifice everything that does not positively contribute to the individual reaching the destination.
- For such individuals all happiness in life is concentrated in the goal or destination that they have decided for themselves and there is no surety that upon reaching the goal there will be satisfaction or happiness that will justify the sacrifices made.
- But there is an advantage of this path or way as well, It is extremely likely that all energies of these individuals are concentrated upon reaching their goals, these are likely to be super achievers, but at what cost and is the cost worth it??? I don’t know
- Another critical factor that decides the magnitude of achievement of an individual or how close one is able to reach his destination is the inherent intelligence level of the individual. So if an individual of average intelligence decides this way, it is likely that he or she will end up with achievements that initially were not in his grasp. But, This would require a lot of sacrifices from him or her.
- But, I believe to this category is another truth that I have realized over a period of time.
- Another way to live and at the same time walk the path to the destination is to enjoy every moment of life. In this case the sacrifices involved in continuing to walk the path of life and hence success are much lesser.
- In this case the weight-age given to the destination is slightly lesser. Such individuals should be satisfied with every moment and hence should be happy. In this case the likelihood of the individual reaching his goal is comparatively lesser. At the same time destination does not carry similar quantum of happiness as it does in the previous case.
- An individual with average intelligence is likely to be an under achiever in this scenario. This will entail frustration and inferiority complex in extreme cases because of comparisons with individuals having average intelligence who have chosen the other path or individuals with extraordinary intelligences having chosen the same path reaching their goals.
- I believe that both these philosophies are inherent to the way an individual grows up and tends to get ingrained in the minds and habits as one achieves goals in life and moves on. Upon achieving once goal habits get hardened over a period of time.
